Comfy Cotton Blend Yarn
This scarf is made using one skein of Lion Brand Comfy Cotton Blend Yarn. The color is whipped cream. It is a soft yarn that flows nicely with this particular pattern.
Recently, there have been a lot of yarn sales and when this one was on sale, I had no idea on what to make with this, but just knew that I had to get some of this into my yarn stash.
So glad I took advantage of the sale, as I just love how this crochet project turned out with it. To be honest, the hardest part of crocheting this beautiful scarf is finding the beginning of the yarn! I swear it took me 20 minutes. Hopefully, you will have better luck with that.

Asymmetrical Scarf
This scarf is worked from one corner to the opposite side. In an asymmetrical shawl, the stitches are added to one side.

Crochet Level
Easy. Great crochet pattern for a first shawl. You should be familiar with the chain stitch and double crochet. If you are new to crochet, you can find crochet tutorials here.
Gauge
15 double crochet per 4 inches. After 12 rows, the triangle size is approximately 6 1/2 inches wide X 7 1/5 inches long. However, gauge is not crucial for this project. Additionally, changes in yarn or crochet hook may affect the finished size.
Size
Finished size: 37 inches long X 36 inches wide. this can be adjusted by adding or decreasing rows. The shawl is made with one skein of yarn. I was able to crochet 60 rows from the yarn that I used.

Size J 5.75 MM crochet hook

Pattern Notes
Once the first 12 rows are complete, the pattern consists of a repeat of rows 5-12 until you reach the desired size. Each row will increase by 2 stitches.

Begin CH 4
Row 1
2 DC in the 4rd CH from the hook. Turn (3 DC)
Row 2
CH 3, DC in the next ST, 3 DC in the last ST. Turn (5 DC)
Row 3
CH 3, 2 DC in the same ST, DC in the remaining Sts. Turn (7 DC)
Row 4
CH 3, DC in the next ST and in each ST across to the last, 3 DC in the last ST. Turn (9 DC)
Row 5
CH 4, (counts as 1 DC and CH here and throughout pattern). DC in the same ST. [CH 1, SK 1, DC in next ST] repeat between [ ] across. Turn (6 DC)
Row 6
CH 4, DC in the next DC [CH 1, DC in next DC] repeat between [ ] across to last ST. (DC CH 1, DC) in last ST. Turn (7 DC)
Row 7
CH 4, DC in the same ST. [CH 1, DC in next DC] repeat between [ ] across to last ST. Turn (8 DC)
Row 8
CH 4, DC in the next DC [CH 1, DC in next DC] repeat between [ ] across to last ST. (DC CH 1, DC) in last ST. Turn (9 DC)
Row 9
CH 3, 2 DC in the same ST, DC in each CH SP and ST across. Turn (19 DC).
Row 10
CH 3, DC in the next ST and in each ST across to the last ST. 3 DC in the last ST. Turn (21 DC)
Row 11
CH 3, 2 DC in the same ST, DC in each CH SP and ST across. Turn (23 DC).
Row 12
CH 3, DC in the next ST and in each ST across to the last ST. 3 DC in the last ST. Turn (25 DC)
Repeat rows 5-12 until your desired length or your run out of yarn.
My skein of yarn made it to row 60.
Finishing
Weave in ends and cut off excess.

Hello. Thanks for this so nice and easy pattern to do ! It's going up quickly ! I have 2 comments about the written explanations : - on row 7 : I don't think we do '(DC CH 1, DC) in last ST.' at the end of the row, the increasing has been done at the begining of row. - on row 9 : it's 'CH 3, 2 DC in the same ST', the '2' is missing ! Your very well done video helped me to find why I didn't managed to arrive at 19 Dc at the end of the row !! Thanks for your great work and beautiful patterns !
