Instructions
Chicken and Pork Teriyaki
Start with the additional meat. In this case, I used pork. I cubed the pork and fried it in a cast iron skillet. Salt and pepper to taste. Make sure not to overcrowd as the meat will not be able to brown and caramelize.
(timing note: I normally start the rice first and cook the meat and other ingredients while the microwave is doing the rice)
Here is a picture of the pork starting to brown and caramelize
Once the pork is brown and caramelized, add the drained bean sprouts and vegetables. Also, add the sauce. Mix and cook until it boils. Turn off heat.
Rice
In a microwave safe bowl, add 2 cups of water and 2 cups of the minute rice. I stir a bit to make sure that all the grains of rice are covered in the water.
Cook on high for 5 minutes uncovered
Let stand 1-2 minutes.
Plating
Serving spoon of rice first, then a serving spoon of the chicken and pork teriyaki. Finish that off with the chow mein noodles and teriyaki marinade.
Notes
This dish also keeps well in the refrigerator. I like to store the rice separate from the chicken and pork teriyaki dish.storing chicken teriyaki dish and rice separatelyIn order to reheat, I put a spoon of each on a plate and microwave approximately 1 - 1 1/2 minutes. Then sprinkle on the chow mein noodles and teriyaki marinade sauce.
