Simply the Best Candied Carrots
Candied carrots are so easy and quick to make. Delicious side dish to liven up fresh carrots that the whole family will enjoy.
Servings: 6 people
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 32 Oz. Sliced Carrots 2 small bags or you can slice your own too
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 Cup Maple Syrup can also use same amount of brown sugar if desired
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Add olive oil to a non-stick pan and add two bags of sliced carrots. Cover and cook on medium-high until fork tender. Stir occasionally. This should take 15-20 minutes.
Reduce heat to medium-low and remove cover. Continue cooking 3-5 minutes until the carrots start to caramelize.
Once caramelization occurs...
...add butter and maple syrup. Lightly salt and pepper to taste. Cook 3-5 minutes to thicken the candied glaze slightly.
