Chunky Christmas Ornament Coaster Free Crochet Pattern

Add a DIY pop of color to your home with this round chunky coasters in the shape of ornaments. It’s easy to crochet a coordinated set. They work up very quickly and look so cute.

Equipment

  • Yarn Needle

  • 1 Partial Skein Lion Brand Hometown USA Yarn Super Bulky Cincinnati Red

Instructions

  • Use the Cincinnati Red.
    1 Partial Skein Lion Brand Hometown USA Yarn Super Bulky
  • Begin with a magic circle.
  • Round 1
  • CH 1 (Does not count as a ST). Complete 6 SC in the magic circle. SL ST into first SC to close the round. Pull the yarn tail from the magic circle to tighten and close the circle in the magic circle. (6 SC)
  • Round 2
  • CH 1 (Does not count as a ST). 1 SC in same ST. 2 SC in each ST around, ending with a SC in the first ST where you did the first SC. End with a SL ST into the first SC to join. (12 SC)
  • Round 3
  • CH 1 (Does not count as a ST). 1 SC into the same ST, 2 SC in the next ST. [1 SC in the next ST, 2 SC in the next ST]. Repeat between [ ] around. End with a SL ST into the first SC to join. (18 SC).
  • Round 4
  • CH 1 (Does not count as a ST). 1 SC into the same ST. 1 SC in next ST, 2 SC in the next ST. [1 SC in the next 2 STs, 2 SC in the next ST]. Repeat between [ ] around. End with a SL ST into the first SC to join. (24 SC).
  • Finishing: Fasten off Cincinnati Red by pulling the yarn through the last ST. Using the yarn needle, weave in the ends and cut off the excess yarn.
  • Create the Stem
  • Using the New York White, Join the yarn to a ST on the outer circle.
