The Sweet Shoppe Easy Crochet Asymmetrical Shawl is the perfect project for those of you who are looking for something a little bit different. The color possibilities are endless.
I’ve designed an asymmetrical shawl that is simple to crochet and looks absolutely stunning. This shawl is perfect for those days when you need a little bit of extra warmth, or simply want to add a touch of glamour to your outfit. You’ll love how soft and cozy this shawl is when it’s finished.
Colors of a Sweet Shoppe
The colors of this shawl remind me of stepping into a sweet shoppe. Imagine stepping into an old-fashioned candy store. I can just see macaroons stacked on tiered trays, cookies frosted with pastel colors, chocolate covered strawberries, jars of colored taffy, large rainbow swirl lollipops pops on sticks, and fancy pastries decorated with fillings and frostings.

Asymmetrical Triangle Shawl Crochet Pattern
This crochet pattern is worked from one corner to the opposite side. In an asymmetrical shawl, the stitches are added to one side. Therefore, one edge grows wider as the other edge remains straight. While this is a triangular shawl, it is angular and therefore, asymmetrical.
How do You Wear a Triangle Shawl?
If you are wondering how to fashion a triangle shawl, here are a few ideas for you. Two of the most popular styles include draping the shawl over the back or front with the ends over your shoulder.
Additionally, if the shawl is made from a lightweight yarn, you can scrunch it up and wrap it around the neck closely as you would an infinity scarf.
Wear this accessory draped over one shoulder and wrapped around the neck or secured with a pin.
If the shawl is wide enough, it can be worn around the waist as a beach cover up.

Use up Yarn Scraps
When this asymmetrical shawl was complete, I had yarn leftover. One of my goals this year is to find a way to use up those leftover yarn skeins rather than put them into a plastic bag and stash for another day. I made this scarf using whatever I had for yarn colors. The pattern uses lattice stitch, which is great for a beginner. This Rainbow Sorbet Infinity Scarf Crochet Pattern works up quickly too.
