Simple Crochet Stitch Pattern
If you can crochet the single crochet and a chain stitch, you have the crochet skills necessary to crochet this lovely infinity scarf. The pattern is a repeat of rows 3 and 4. It is perfect for a beginner at crochet or an experienced crocheter that wants to make an easy cowl with gorgeous results.
The Linen Stitch which is also called the Moss Stitch, and Granite Stitch is used for this cowl pattern. The only difference between rows 3 and 4 are the rows start. Once you get going it is a single crochet and a chain stitch alternating pattern.
In Round 2, there is a lot of counting. Once you get past that row, you will be able to tell where to place your hook for the single crochet stitches. It becomes much easier.
How Do you connect an Infinity Scarf?
Most often, an infinity scarf is joined using the join as you go method. Once you chain the required number of initial chain stitches, put crochet hook through the beginning chain and work a slip stitch to join. Being careful not to twist the length of chain stitches.
Another method of connecting an infinity scarf is to crochet it flat and use the crochet hook or tapestry needle to sew the ends of the scarf together.
How to Join an Infinity Scarf Without Twists
However, I have an easier way for you. Chain about 10 chain stitches. Carefully remove the loop on the crochet hook. Go back to the first chain stitch and place that on the crochet hook. Then place the loop you were working with back on the hook and continue working your length of chains desired.
When you are ready to join, just yarn over and pull the loop through both loops on your hook. You have easily joined your infinity scarf without any twists with ease.
Once the two ends have been joined, you will now work the stitches in each row joining with a slip stitch at the end. Essentially joining the cowl with each round as you work the crochet pattern.

Crochet Pattern Notes
You can work this infinity cowl in the flat and join at the end. However, I worked the number of chain stitches that I wanted for the length of this cowl and joined right away. Then worked a slip stitch at the end of each row to join as I worked the pattern. Make sure to watch the video above on how to easily join the beginning length of chains easily without twisting the chain.
Do not turn at the end of each row.

Crochet Pattern Directions
CH 230 Join with a SL ST into the first CH ST to form the circle.
Round 1
CH 1, SC in the first ST and in each ST around. When the last SC ST is worked, join with a SL ST into the first SC ST. (230 STs).
Round 2
CH 1, SC into first SC, CH 1, SK 1 [SC in the next ST, CH 1, SK 1]. Repeat across between [ ] until the last ST. Join with a SL ST into the first SC.
Round 3
CH 2, SC in the previous round CH SP. [CH 1, SK 1, SC in the CH SP]. Repeat around. Join with a SL ST into the 2nd CH of the starting CH 2.
Round 4
CH 1, SC in the previous round CH SP. CH 1, SK 1 [SC in the next ST, CH 1, SK 1]. Repeat across between [ ] until the last ST. Join with a SL ST into the first SC.
Rounds 5-47
Continue alternating between rounds 3 and 4.
Round 48
CH 1, SC in each ST around join with a SL ST into the first SC.
Finishing
Weave in the yarn ends and remove the excess yarn.
