I am a beginner pattern reader and writer. I do not profess to be an expert. When I look at a pattern posted somewhere like Pinterest for a Crochet Hoodie Cardigan like this, I would save the post, but never think that I had the skills and know-how to make it.

Easy Skill Level

The pattern shows the skill level as being easy. Further, the pattern provides not only the overall finished sized, but the specific finished measurements for bust and length in inches. The pattern instructions are written for a woman’s small, medium, large, x-large, 2x-large, and 3x-large. To me, that is really like having six patterns in one. That is such a nice feature. Other information such as the materials, gauge, and pattern notes are included in the beginning of the pattern. I like that the specific skeins of yarn needed for each size are listed.

Purchased the Yarn

After reviewing the pattern, I purchased the yarn too! Now I am excited to make this. I just have to decide if I want to make it for me, which means larger size, or my daughter, which means a smaller size.  I have a picture of the yarn below.

Stitches use in Pattern

The stitches within the pattern are chain, double crochet, front post double crochet, or back post double crochet. I can do those stitches. Additionally, the Crochet Hoodie Cardigan Pattern is made in pieces and finished by sewing the pieces together. Lastly, there is also a stitch diagram to help those crocheters that use this method of reading a pattern to help them visualize the written directions.
