Where Winter meets color with the Frost Blossom Collection of crochet patterns. There is something so special about those in-between winter days. When a soft blanket of snow still covers the ground, but little hints of grass are beginning to peek through.
That quiet contrast of frosty white and hopeful color is exactly what inspired the Frost Blossom Collection.
This collection of crochet patterns was such a joy to create because it was truly a collaboration. My daughter Casey and I crocheted each piece together, dreaming up a set of cozy designs that could be mixed, matched, and worn all season long. From snuggly layers to everyday accessories, every pattern in the collection shares the same comforting texture and beautifully coordinated yarn pairing.
We can’t wait to start sharing each design with you.

What Makes the Frost Blossom Collection Special
Every piece in the Frost Blossom Collection is designed to work together seamlessly. We used the same:
- Stitch pattern
- Yarn combination
- Soft winter-inspired color story
The stitch at the heart of this collection is the lemon peel stitch. A wonderfully rhythmic texture that is simple to work but full of visual interest. When worked in strict black and white, this stitch creates the classic houndstooth look.
But by using variegated yarns instead, we achieved a completely different effect: soft, blended color with gentle texture that feels cozy, modern, and full of life.
For all pieces in the collection, we used:
- Red Heart Bitty Strips in Crayon
- Red Heart Bitty Strips in Moonbeam
Together, they create that signature “frost meets bloom” look we fell in love with.
Designed to Mix, Match, and Layer
One of our favorite parts of this collection is how beautifully the pieces work together. Whether you’re heading out into the cold or curling up at home, you can layer these designs for a coordinated handmade look.
We had so much fun photographing Casey wearing different combinations out in the snowy yard. And we’ll be sharing lots of those styling ideas as the patterns roll out.
