Easy Beginner Crochet Shawl
This crochet pattern is great for a beginner to make your first scarf. Once you get to row 9, the pattern is a repeat of rows 8 and 9. Use the double crochet and chain stitch to achieve this lovely accessory.
Crochet shawl patterns are always popular patterns to crochet no matter what time of the year.
Shawls are a great fashion accessory to wear during the day or night. They’re cozy enough to keep you warm, but lighter and less cumbersome than a bulky sweater or large poncho. Shrugs on the other hand, are a smaller version of shawls and are also very popular to crochet. This pattern might lean a bit more toward a shrug, still beautiful and easy to crochet.
Asymmetrical Crochet Scarf
This scarf is has stitches added to only one side of your rows. Therefore, the shawl becomes asymmetrical. It is kind of triangle shape, but becomes elongated on one side.
About the Yarn
For this crochet pattern, I used Lion Brand Landscapes yarn. Four skeins, 588 yards. With this yarn you don’t have to worry about weaving in ends or picking color combinations at all. The yarn has beautiful contrasting, but gorgeous colors that work together.
This easy crochet shawl pattern will work with any yarn. Go through your yarn stash and find 588 yards. That is all you need. So simple and stylish.
