Pretty Little Crochet Flowers
These crochet flowers are made from scraps of cotton yarn today. Here are the colors in case you wanted to achieve the same look.
- Denim Sugar ‘n Cream
- Potpourri Ombre Sugar ‘n Cream
- Lilac Sugar ‘n Cream
Using Scraps of Yarn
Lately, I have been busy making gifts for family and friends. Therefore, I have a lot of leftover little scraps of yarn. So, I decided to make a little flower. I left the longer yarn tails on the flowers yet as I plan on attaching them to some cute SPA crochet projects that I am in the process of designing.
Video Tutorial for the Crochet Flower
If you are a beginner at crochet, this video tutorial will help you understand the directions. Go ahead and check it out. This is such a quick project and the results are just so fun.
Directions: Cute Little Flower
Materials:
Yarn scrap of your choice.
Supplies:
Since I used 4 ply cotton yarn, I also used the recommended Size H crochet hook.
Scissors
Yarn needle for weaving in the ends to either the flower itself or attaching it to another crochet project.
Abbreviations:
CH = Chain
SC = Single Crochet
ST = Stitch
SL ST = Slip Stitch
Directions:
Begin with the magic circle and a CH 1 (which does not count as a stitch). If you want to see a tutorial on the magic circle, I have this photo crochet tutorial post for you that may help. However, this step is also shown in the video for making this flower.
Round 1: SC 6 times into the magic circle. End with a SL ST into the beginning SC.
Round 2: CH 5 and SC into the beginning ST. *SC, CH 4, SL ST into the same ST*. Repeat between * until the end. End with a SL ST.
Attaching Little Flower
If you plan on using this flower to attach to another crochet project, leave longer yarn tails on both the beginning and ending of this flower. To attach, pull the yarn through the stitches of the project that you will be attaching the little flower to. Once the flower is snug, go ahead and weave in the ends going in multiple directions. Cut off the excess yarn.
Open Petal Crochet Flower – Beginner Crochet Flower
Since using yarn scraps for these pretty flowers, I have used more yarn scraps for a slightly different type of flower. Additionally, I made some cute headbands that both of these flowers have been attached to as embellishments.
