This crochet 12-point star blanket is worked in the round. Increase the size as you work through the pattern. Fun for a baby blanket or larger blanket. Unique and pretty.

Crochet Stitches Used in the Pattern
The crochet pattern uses the double crochet stitch throughout and works up rather quickly. It has a lovely drape and texture.
This blanket was made using a cotton yarn, which makes this light. Yet, it provides just the right amount of coverage for summer or any time of the year.
Pattern is Worked in the Round
Throughout this crochet pattern, you will be working in the round in a circular motion. This pattern adds stitches that help increase the size, yet keep the blanket laying flat.
It is just amazing how in only forty-six rounds, this gorgeous blanket was created. Crochet this lovely keepsake.
Crochet Chevron Style
This star blanket is crocheted in a chevron style. When making the points to the star, stitches are added. On the other hand, in making the valleys of the star, stitches are skipped.
Previously, I have made a bed skirt/blanket pattern worked in the chevron style.
Here is a chevron style crochet pattern where the peaks and valleys are a bit more rounded.
Beautiful and Versatile Crochet Pattern
This unique crochet pattern can be easily made into a baby blanket or large blanket. Just stop at the desired round or keep going.
In addition to a blanket, this can be used as a tablecloth. The photo shows the blanket draped over a tall table outside on a porch. The purple flowers in the hanging basket highlight the color in the star blanket.
Round Chevron Blanket Displayed as a Tablecloth

Star Point to Circular Crochet Blanket. It is important to keep the circle in the same place throughout the pattern. Therefore, be sure to count your crochet stitches throughout.
One Crochet Skein Per Round
I was not keen on crocheting in a lot of yarn ends in this blanket; therefore, I crocheted with one skein of yarn until it ran out. Sometimes, I would get almost all the way around and have to remove the stitches because there was not enough yarn to make it the entire way.
However, rather than complete the row with a partial skein, I removed the stitches. This will ensure that you will have enough yarn to make your crochet pattern. Additionally, you will know when to stop with one color and start with another one. I have already done the work for you.
Use up Those Yarn Scraps
Here are two patterns that use the rest of the cotton yarn that was left over from this lovely afghan.
First up is the Ribbed Crochet Mug Rug Coaster. Work in the back loops to create this ribbed look and add a bit of fringe for a fun finish.
Next up is the lovely Puff Stitch Boho Coaster. This square coaster is a bit bigger than the first one as it worked up to be 5 X 5 inches. without the fringe. Also, the fringe is added every other stitch. So, they have lots of texture and unique looks.

Crochet 12-Point Star Blanket Pattern Notes
This pattern begins with a CH 4 and SL ST to form a ring. However, you can use a magic circle to start this crochet pattern.
Crochet over yarn ends to help minimize weaving in yarn ends and hold the yarn securely.
Always Chain 2 at the beginning of a round, not 3. This will help make the join less visible.
Starting with Round 5 and beyond, you will be completing between 2 rounds of the large shell and 1 round of the small shell. Adding stitches between the shells as needed and making the valley by skipping two stitches.

Is it ok to use acrylic instead of cotton yarn?
Hi Jerri, You can. This pattern will work with any worsted weight yarn.
