Pure comfort and deliciousness. However, you don’t have to wait for family to come for a visit to make this crock pot pork roast. This recipe is so easy, you can set this and forget it for a delicious meal any night of the week.
Crock Pot Timing
Since I was home the other day when I made my pork roast, I had the crock pot on high for 6 hours and the roast was done. However, if I was going to be gone to work all day, the crock pot should be set on low for at least 8 hours.
Pillsbury.com has a great cooking chart showing the various cooking times and temperatures. A crock pot on low is about 200 degrees Fahrenheit. A crock pot on high is about 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Therefore, cooking something on high in the crock pot for 3-4 hours should be cooked for 6-8 hours when using the low setting.

This crock pot is a great kitchen essential if you are going to be making anything in the crock pot. I like that the inside comes out to clean; that is not always the case. Removing the ceramic insert for cleaning is wonderful. I always feel better about the cleanliness. The smaller warming crock pot is great for serving warm dips and sauces. This does a great job of keeping things warm while you are enjoying the food.
More recently, the instant pot cooker is becoming popular. This is taking a crock pot and putting it under pressure. This causes the cooking process to speed up.
