Easy Crochet Blanket Pattern

While this blanket does have a few different stitches used throughout, they are easy to master. If you are new to crochet or even crocheting a while, this can be a great crochet pattern to explore how pairing a few stitches together can bring the entire look together.

Sometimes a crochet pattern can be boring for some folks, with the variety of stitches in this baby blanket, it was just a fun pattern for me and I hope for you too.

Mesh Stitch

One of the stitches used in this baby blanket is the mesh stitch and it is very simple to do. This stitch pattern has a lovely simple texture and the beginning of each row on both sides looks the same. If you can single crochet and chain stitch, you can do this stitch. This stitch is so versatile. Try it with hats, blankets, baby coats, and much more.

Berry Stitch

Another stitch used in this throw is the berry stitch. In the photo, you can see where the white rows of yarn have a little poof to them. This is created using this stitch. The fun visual element that this adds I think really makes this blanket attractive.

Yellow and White Crochet Baby Blanket

While I crocheted this blanket in a soft yellow and white today, it would look lovely in a wide variety of color schemes. Further, I used a Caron Simply Soft yarn (3 skeins), but this stitch pattern would work well for many yarns.

Go through your yarn stash and find 3 skeins of yarn, you have a pattern waiting for you. At least, that is what I did. These colors just pair together so nicely.

Crochet Edge

There is another fun stitch with this lovely crochet textured and bobble blanket. It is the extended single crochet. This stitch is the last round on the crochet edge. It is kind of like a double crochet; however, you do not yarn over before inserting the crochet hook into the stitch loops.

Therefore, the extended single crochet gives a bit more height than just using a single crochet stitch. Make sure to watch the video for this stitch if it is new to you.
