Finding the Perfect Crochet Project for the Stunning Yarn

I saw this beautiful Lion Brand Landscapes yarn and just fell in love. There was a sale recently, and let’s just say, I purchased way too much.

Finally had to purchase some plastic tubs and sort my yarn. There is a small, but sizable yarn stash that I just had to get under control. It is all packed away in 6 plastic tubs. This yarn is one of the first ones that I pulled out.

There is not much yardage really to each skein, only 147 yards. I needed a total of 3 skeins. 441 yards. Therefore, I had to figure out a crochet project that would be appropriate for the smaller skeins of yarn. The colors are just beautiful and I wanted to show the gorgeous color pallet.

Just look at the colorful scarf paired with the pattern. Isn’t that just beautiful?

Sometimes, I need to just stop and take a moment to realize that us folks that work with yarn are really artists. We choose the color, the stitch, and the end results are unique and lovely crochet design.

Asymmetrical Shawl

This scarf is worked from one corner to the opposite side. In an asymmetrical shawl, the stitches are added to one side.

Make this Crochet Project in a Day

I did actually have time recently to spend an entire day crocheting. It was during the holiday too. If someone would have told me when I was younger and running all around that you do have a bit more time for yourself when your family is grown, I would have never believed them.

Well, it is true and while I adore and love my family, carving out a bit of me time; well, it is just precious. I hope you like the results of my Saturday as much as I do.

Crochet Level

Easy. Great crochet pattern for a first shawl. You should be familiar with the chain stitch and double crochet. If you are new to crochet, you can find crochet tutorials here.

Gauge

14 double crochet per 4 inches. After 12 rows, the triangle size is approximately 7 inches wide X 8 inches long. However, gauge is not crucial for this project. Additionally, changes in yarn or crochet hook may affect the finished size.

Size

Finished size: 39 inches long X 38 inches wide. this can be adjusted by adding or decreasing rows. The shawl is made with three skeins of yarn. I was able to crochet 64 rows from the yarn that I used.

Awe. So glad to hear. I hope you do, just a lovely shawl. I had this one, brought it to work to show my friends and now I need to make another, because I ended up giving it away. I get to see it once in a while when it gets worn at work. :) This one is a very easy pattern to work with. Great one for watching tv while you crochet.
