How to Make Pork Chops in Mushroom Soup Recipe

There are just 7 simple ingredients needed to make this easy dinner recipe.

Ingredients

Pork Chops. I often use boneless pork chops. Boneless pork chops are the same as a rib-cut pork chop. They just have the excess bone and fat removed already. Therefore, they are a great option for this weeknight meal. However, other great pork options for this recipe include bone-in pork loin chops, pork steaks, shoulder pork chops, and sirloin chops.

Rice. I have used white rice, brown rice, and wild rice in this recipe.

Onion. Any type of onion will work in this recipe, red, yellow, white, or even a Vidalia onion

Cream of Mushroom Soup

French Onion Soup

Milk

Fresh Parsley. This helps bring color and a bit of freshness to the dish as an optional garnish.

Mix the mushroom sauce in a bowl using the mushroom soup, French onion soup, and milk. Pour this over the pork chops.

Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 2 hours.

Check the temperature of the meat with an instant-read meat thermometer. The pork is perfectly done at 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Garnish with Parsley if desired.

Recipe for Baked Pork Chops and Rice

While you could bake the pork chops all by itself in this recipe, we like to add a layer of rice. It cooks up right along with the pork chops and in just a bit of time in the oven, your meal is ready for your family. Just add a vegetable side and a salad.

These baked smothered pork chops are sure to become a family favorite and be made often. That is okay with me, I love getting everyone to the dinner table to enjoy some good home cooking.

How do you Cook Pork Chops so they Don’t Get Tough?

To prevent dry and tough pork chops, you need to not overcook them and cook them in a liquid. When they’re cooked for even a few minutes too long, whether it’s in the oven or on the stovetop or grill, they’re quick to dry out, and become tough.
