Make Something People will Rave About
Everyone just raves about how much they love it! Also, if you compare this coleslaw to the grocery store coleslaw, you will find that often, the grocery store coleslaw is bitter. That does not appeal to me at all. This coleslaw is creamy with a bit of sweetness. It goes well with pulled pork sandwiches, Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas dinner, or just as a side dish at a pot luck or picnic. However, it is so easy to make, it could be served any day of the week.
Bagged or Shredded Cabbage
You can use a pre-shredded cabbage-the size that is about 14 ounces. Or, you can shred your own cabbage and it can be red or green cabbage or a combination of the two.
Prepare Ingredients Ahead/Assemble the Day of…
Shred the cabbage a few days ahead and store it in the refrigerator until you are ready to make the coleslaw.
Make the dressing a few days ahead and store this in the refrigerator too. Actually, the dressing will last a few weeks.
Go ahead and make the coleslaw 1 – 2 hours before you want to serve it to your guests. Just remember to take it out of the refrigerator. One time, my sister-in-law was so busy making a large holiday meal, that she forgot to serve the coleslaw. There was so much food, we never missed it.
