What is a Spritzer?

Sometimes the booze can be too much all by itself. Therefore, soda water and ice help balance the flavors and lighten up the taste. This is a nice cocktail to serve for brunch, for a wedding, or cocktail hour at home.

How to Make a Crown Royal Spritzer?

Add ice to a drink glass. An 8-ounce glass works well for this recipe. Fill halfway with ice.

Add the peach whiskey and soda. Gently stir. Pro Tip. If you stir too fast, you could introduce too much air into the drink. Therefore, gently stir the drink. A chopstick works nicely for this task.

Garnish with slices of fresh peach and a sprig of fresh mint.

Should You Shake Whiskey?

If a drink contains all alcohol, it is best to stir them together using a spoon.

If a drink has citrus in it, it should be shaken. Anything with egg or egg alternatives and dairy or dairy alternatives should be shaken.

In general, it’s a good idea to stir drinks with all clear ingredients. Shake or blend everything else according to your preference.

What is the Purpose of Using a Mixing Tin?

A mixing tin chills and dilutes the drink ingredients, it also adds a little bit of air, which affects the texture. The small little bubbles help create texture that result in a light drink. It also helps dampen the alcoholic burn of the alcohol itself.

Generally, as a rule, there are three main ingredients you will want to shake in a mixing tin.

Citrus. Shaking the citrus helps tone down the sharp acid from the citrus.

Dairy and dairy alternatives. Shaking helps emulsify the ingredients for a smooth drink.

Eggs and egg alternatives. Shaking agitates the eggs to help blend them into the cocktail. As an example, when mixing a meringue, you must mix the eggs vigorously to help them whip together in the peaks.
