This pattern is called the Crowning Touch Crochet Basket Pattern because of the scalloped edge, which is very easy to achieve. There are a variety of colors to show off the pattern and I have shown my favorite ones shown.

Two Patterns for the Crochet Basket
This crochet basket below is made with half double crochet and single crochet. I have included that pattern at the bottom of this post. The other colors shown further below are all made with single crochet. No matter which pattern you choose to make, they are both fun, and look wonderful.

The single crochet basket is in a variety of colors. The colors help the house feel like fall and the fact that they are a useful basket helps keep the clutter under control throughout the house. Beginning Round 1:
9 SC in Magic circle and SL ST into first CH (insert a stitch marker in this stitch to help you find the beginning and end of each row…continue to use the stitch marker like this for each row to help identify the beginning and end of each row).
Round 2:
2 SC in each ST and SL ST into first SC. Should be 18 SC in this row. (move the stitch marker to this stitch).
Round 3:
*2 SC in first ST, 1 SC in next ST*. Continue this pattern from * until the end of the row and join to the first SC with a SL ST. (Continue to move the stitch marker).
Round 4:
*2 SC in first ST, 1 SC in next two ST*. Continue this pattern from * until the end of the row and join to the first SC with a SL ST.
Round 5:
*2 SC in first ST, 1 SC in next three ST*. Continue this pattern from * until the end of the row and join to the first SC with a SL ST.
Round 6:
1 SC in back loop of each ST until the end of the row and join to the first SC with a SL St. This is the first row of the sides of the basket.
Rounds 7-18:
1 SC in each ST until the end of the row and join to the first SC with a SL St. (Continue to move the stitch marker).
Top Scalloped Edge
Round 19:
*1 SC, 1 HDC, 1 SC in the first ST, CH 1, Skip ST*. Continue this pattern from * until the end of the row and join to the first SC with a SL St.
Finishing off:
pull the yarn through the last loop. Using the yarn needle, weave in the ends of the yarn.

Round 19:
*1 SC, 1 HDC, 1 SC in the first ST, CH 1, Skip ST*. Continue this pattern from * until the end of the row and join to the first SC with a SL St.
Finishing off: To finish off, pull the yarn through the last loop. Using the yarn needle, weave in the ends of the yarn.
