Round Crochet Basket Patterns
There are other crochet basket patterns that I have made available on my blog using different yarn, colors, stitches, and sizes. They are quick to make too.
Just over an hour for each one. They are so pretty and stylish when they are used. My daughter took the seaside crochet baskets so I was not able to give them away as gifts. Well, I guess in a way, I did give them away…
Bridal shower gifts
My daughter’s bridal shower is coming up very soon. I planned on giving away something crocheted with a hand soap, lotion, or candle.
Once I knew the basics of creating a crochet basket, I went to the store and purchased several skeins in beautiful colors. Then I made a bunch in a variety of patterns making it all up as I went along.
The hard part is remembering what I did after making so many. Therefore, before I give them away, I am working hard on writing up the patterns.

Extra Pattern at the Bottom
All the crochet baskets pictured are made using the directions below except for one. This one is a bit bigger and uses a spike stitch for a distinctive look. Make sure to scroll to the bottom to get those directions too.
Yarn Used
The crochet baskets shown are all made from these four colors of Lion Brand Hometown USA Yarn Super Bulky.
Darker Green – Lion Brand Vermont Green
Lighter Green – Lion Brand Oklahoma City Green
Yarn with the Red Tone – Lion Brand Tampa Spice
Darker Maroon Color – Lion Brand Napa Valley Pinot
Each basket uses one skein of yarn or less. When there is left-over yarn, determine if there are any colors that go together and use the left-over yarn as an accent color. Sometimes, you may have two colors in a basket like I did with the Lion Brand Vermont Green and Lion Brand Oklahoma City Green. Note: all I did was use the directions below, changing the yarn colors as desired through the basket.

Beginning Round 1
: 8 SC in Magic circle and SL ST into first CH (insert a stitch marker in this stitch to help you find the beginning and end of each row).
Row 2:
2 SC in each ST and SL ST into first SC. Should be 16 SC in this row. (move the stitch marker to this stitch).
Row 3:
*2 SC in first ST, 1 SC in next ST*. Continue this pattern from * until the end of the row and join to the first SC with a SL ST. (Continue to move the stitch marker).
Row 4:
*2SC in first ST, 1 SC in next two ST*. Continue this pattern from * until the end of the row and join to the first SC with a SL ST. (Continue to move the stitch marker).
Row 5:
*2 SC in first ST, 1 SC in next three ST*. Continue this pattern * until the end of the row and join to the first SC with a SL ST. (Continue to move the stitch marker).
Row 6:
1 SC in back loop of each ST until the end of the row and join to the first SC with a SL St. (Continue to move the stitch marker). This is the first row of the sides of the basket.
Rows 7-20:
1 SC in each ST until the end of the row and join to the first SC with a SL St. (Continue to move the stitch marker).
Finishing off
pull the yarn through the last loop. Using the yarn needle, weave in the ends of the yarn.
