How to Crochet the Sedge Stitch

Easy Crochet Sedge Stitch Pattern

Even if you are a beginner at crochet, you can master this crochet pattern. You should be able to crochet the single crochet stitch, half double crochet stitch, and the double crochet stitch to work the Sedge Stitch.  The pattern is a 3 stitch repeat so it’s easy to make it larger or smaller. Crochet multiple stitches into one stitch and skip stitches. As a result, there is a puffiness that has a gorgeous look to it.

Once you memorize the stitch pattern, you will be off to the races. This crochet pattern is a repeat of row 2 until you reach your desired length.

It is a great stitch to work while watching your favorite television show with your favorite people.

Pattern Notes

This pattern uses multiples of 3 for the beginning chain. That means 3 X 7 = 21. Therefore, the sample size I used today is 21 stitches.

Each row has a turning chain.

Turn at the end of the row.

This pattern is written in U.S. Crochet Terms.
