Popular Creamy Hot Sauce
This Asian condiment sauce is quickly becoming popular in America. In the Asian restaurants in our town, you can find a bottle of this sauce on each table.
This sauce is perfect to use as a dip for your favorite appetizer, chicken tender, cheese curd, or drizzle some on your next hamburger. Now some people have gone as far as using this in their potato and egg salad. That is too spicy for me. However, if you can handle the heat, but all means, give it a try.
My daughter calls me a light weight when it comes to eating foods with that extra kick of heat. I do like some heat, but she is right.
With that said, sometimes, I will swap out the Sriracha for a different hot sauce that is closer to my heat tolerance. Therefore, use the hot sauce that you like in their recipe, any version of hot sauce will work in this recipe.
You can easily make this condiment at home with only a few ingredients.
Sriracha Mayo Recipe Variations
This is a recipe that I can enjoy; therefore, for those of you that like more heat, go ahead and add 1 more tablespoon of the hot sauce. Heck add as much as you can take.
This recipe works with a wide variety of hot sauces. Give a few a try and find your favorite.
If you like a bit of sweet with your heat, add a tablespoon of honey. (The sweet will actually tame down the heat of the hot sauce). So, if you happen to add too much Sriracha, add some sweet to help balance out the flavors.
Mince a clove of garlic or 1 green onion. They would add another level of heat flavor profile and freshness.
Swap out the lime for lemon or apple cider vinegar.
If you want a deeper flavor, add a bit of soy sauce.
Fresh herbs can be added such as fresh parsley, chives, or cilantro. However, this will not keep in the refrigerator more than a week because of the fresh herbs; therefore, use this up quickly.
