Beautiful Gifts
My daughter is getting married and I have decided that I would make as many of the bridal shower gifts as possible. These four chunky crochet baskets will be given away with probably a small shower gel and a washing puff. I sure hope that people like them! Hoping that all the work will not be tossed aside and frowned upon. Update: they all loved the gifts! yay! The shower was wonderful.
Sharing the Crochet Patterns
Since I am making such a wide variety, I am sharing the instructions with you while they are still fresh in my mind.
Special Stitches
The soft basket shown above measures approximately 6 inches across and 4 inches high. The basket is holding the napkins I got for my daughter’s shower. Her theme is Beauty and the Beast, so we are using dark blue and yellow colors with red roses and lots of tea cup and candelabra themes. Now the two rows of white that I put in this basket probably have a special name for the stitch, but I haven’t the foggiest what that would be called. I just made it up as I was going along this morning watching television. No worries, I will tell you exactly how I did it. The same stitch is used in the top part of the basket below.
Small Crochet Basket
The soft basket shown above measures approximately 4 inches across and 3.5 inches high. The top of this basket is a bit fancier with the crochet stitches near the top. As you can see, it is big enough to hold the rest of the left-over yarn. Hum, wonder what else I should make…
Rolled Top Basket
The soft basket shown above measures approximately 4 inches across and 6 inches high. Notice that the two pictures above are the same basket. The tall white part is folded over in one picture. It kind of reminds me of the top of Santa’s Boot top. I just might give that a try near the holidays. The rolled top also provides additional stability for this soft basket.
Medium Crochet Basket
The soft basket shown above measures approximately 5.5 inches across and 5 inches high. There is a spike stitch in the middle row just about the white rows of single crochet.
Chunky Crochet Baskets Patterns
There is a pattern for each of the four soft chunky crochet baskets.
Difficulty:
Just beyond beginner. You do need to understand how to read a pattern and complete a single and double crochet stitch. Someone new to working in the round may find it a bit more difficult in the beginning.

Using the Crochet Baskets
You can have two different looks with the stitches on this basket. These soft baskets can be turned inside out or vice-versa. The top edges can be rolled over or straight up. Since the baskets are soft, they can be reshaped. They are sturdy enough to hold things too.
