This fun fresh triangle shawl crochet pattern works up quickly into a beautiful accessory. Today, I made this using a solid chartreuse green color as it will look so lovely this spring.
Crochet triangle shawls are one of the most versatile crochet projects you can make. Make them using a lightweight yarn to a medium weight yarn for a completely different look. I love shawls that are easy, lacy, textured, solid color, and a mix of colors. They are a gorgeous summer accessory, or a warm and cozy triangle scarf to wear in cooler months.
How Do You Crochet a Simple Triangle Shawl?
Looking for a fun and fresh project to crochet? If you are looking for a fun and relaxing crochet shawl pattern, you are in the right place.
This pattern is perfect for both advanced beginners and experienced crocheters alike, and the result is a beautiful and versatile shawl that you can wear all year round.
This pattern starts from the middle top and increases in the middle and sides of the triangle.
The stitches are simple using the chain stitch, single crochet, and double crochet. At times, some stitches are placed in the front loop or back loop to provide a bit more visual texture.
If you want your shawl to work up quickly, choose a pattern that uses mostly double crochet stitches, which this pattern does.
The shawl can be worked as big as you would like, by adding more of the repeating sections.

Pattern Notes
Pattern is written in US terms.
This pattern begins with a chain 4 and a slip stitch into the furthest chain from the hook to form a circle to work the first row in.
Turn at the end of each row.
The CH 3 at the beginning of the rows counts as a double crochet.
Triangular Shawl Pattern is worked from the top down.
You don’t really have to count the stitches in each row. I have the stitch count indicated in case you want to double check that your row stitches are on track.

If you love simple triangle shawls with a simple construction, I have a few patterns for you to consider.
Okay, more than a few. As you can see, I just love triangle shawls. This is just a partial list and it doesn’t even include the asymmetrical shawl patterns.
Why crochet triangle shawls?
They are versatile to wear with any outfit. They can be scrunched and wrapped close to the neck. Wrap the shawl around your shoulders on a chilly evening. If the shawl is large enough, wear it on the beach as a sarong or pareo.
They are often a quick crochet project, plus they make great gifts for friends and family.
You can use any yarn from lightweight to medium weight for different looks using the same pattern. They are perfect for using a solid color yarn, gradient yarn cake, or changing yarn for a variety of colors for a scrappy look.
