Crochet Pattern Details
Size
This color block crochet table runner is approximately 9 inches X 40 inches complete. However, if you choose to change the pattern for a size you desire, the length can be adjusted by using multiples of 2. Of course, rows can be added too. Keep in mind though that making changes to its length or width will require more yarn.
If you change the number of stitches for each color or the rows. be sure to count the rows and stitches. This will help keep the symmetrical look of the table runner. Whatever you do on one end, you should repeat on the other end.

A 4 inch X 4 inch block consists of 15 rows and 17 stitches.

SC = Single Crochet
SK = Skip Stitch
ST = Stitch

Crochet Pattern
Begin
Starting with the white yarn.
Ch 160
Row 1
SC in 4th CH from hook, *ch 1, SK ST, SC in next ST. Repeat from * across, ending with a SC in last ST.
Rows 2-37
CH 2, SC in first CH-1 SP in previous row (Note: not in the stitch itself, but in the space that was created by the CH. To do this, insert your hook in the space, yarn over and pull through the yarn and complete your SC), *CH 1, Skip 1 ST, SC in next SP. Repeat from * to last CH where you end with a SC, turn.
Finishing
Weave in all loose ends and cut off excess yarn.
