Yarn. For the sample, I used some leftover yarn from a skein of Caron Cotton Cakes.
Crochet Hook. Check the yarn package for the suggested crochet hook size
Yarn Needle. For weaving in the yarn ends.
Scissors. For sniping off any excess yarn.

CH = Chain
DC = Double Crochet
SK = Skip
SP = Space
ST = Stitch
STs = Stitches

Crochet Pattern Notes
Turn at the end of each row.
The chain three at the beginning of each row counts as a double crochet.
Repeat row 3 throughout the pattern.

You will be working a series of crochet stitches in the next open space of the row below that was created by the CH 2. It is the perfect project if you don’t want to count stiches as you work across the row.
Basic Crochet Stitches Used
Double Crochet (DC). Yarn over, insert the hook through both loops and pull up a loop. Next, yarn over and pull through two loops on the hook. Lastly, yarn over again and pull through the last two loops on the hook.
Drunken Granny Cluster. (3 DC, CH 2, 1 DC) in the same Stitch.

Chain your desired number of foundation chain stitches.
For the sample in the video tutorial, I used a chain of 19 stitches. Which is 5 X 3 = 15 plus 4 = 19. Use multiples of 5 plus 4 to make a different size.
Row 1
SK 5 CH STs (Counts as 1 DC and 2 CH). In the 6th CH from the hook work (3 DC, CH 2, 1 DC) all into the 6th CH ST. [SK 4 CH STs, all in the next CH ST work (3 DC, CH 2, 1 DC)]. Repeat between [ ] across until there are 3 CH STs left. Then SK 2 CH STs and work 1 DC into the last CH. Turn
Row 2
CH 3 (Counts as 1 DC). [SK over to the CH 2 SP of the previous row. In the CH 2 SP work (3 DC, CH 2, 1 DC)]. Repeat between [ ] across to the end of the row. Working the STs between ( ) in each CH 2 SP. End with 1 DC into the 3rd CH of the initial CH STs that were SK in Row 1. Turn
Row 3
CH 3 (Counts as 1 DC). [SK over to the CH 2 SP of the previous row. In the CH 2 SP work (3 DC, CH 2, 1 DC)]. Repeat between [ ] across to the end of the row. Working the STs between ( ) in each CH 2 SP. End with 1 DC into the 3rd CH of the previous row. Turn

When you have reached your desired length, cut the yarn leaving about a 12-inch yarn tail. Pull the yarn tail through the last stitch.

Step 1:
Begin by making your foundation row of chains in multiples of 5 + 4. My sample was 19 stitches.
Next, skip the first 5 chains and make 3 double crochet in the 6th chain. The 5 skipped chains count as a double crochet, plus 2 chains.
Step 2:
Chain 2, and then work one more double crochet in the same chain stitch as in step 1. This completes the first drunken granny stitch.
Step 3:
Skip 4 chains and work the drunken granny cluster of stitches in the 5th chain. (3 DC, CH 2, 1 DC) in the same Stitch.
Step 4:
Repeat step 3 across the row. When there are 3 chain stitches left, skip 2 chains, and work a double crochet in the top of the chain 3 from the row below. This finishes row 1. Turn
Start Row 2
Step 5:
Start row 2 with chain 3. This counts as a double crochet stitch. Note: In this row and each row beyond, you will be working the drunken granny stitch clusters into the chain 2 spaces of the row below. Working in the chain 2 space work (3 DC, CH 2, 1 DC) in the same Space. Continue working the drunken granny cluster into every chain 2 space across the whole row. End with one double crochet into the top stitch of the initial chain 5 of the previous row. Turn
Now you can see how the angled granny clusters start to look a bit lopsided.
